Our company, Vernay Movers, dates back to 1903. William J. Vernay started a taxi company and delivery service in Paterson, New Jersey, an industrial town known for their silk mills and the manufacture of locomotives. In 1946 William J. Vernay, Jr. returned from the war and took over the operation. During his years, the moving industry grew and so did the service we offered. Small local companies were grouping together with other individually owned and operated companies in other states forming nationwide networks. This organization enabled the local mover to improve the quality and scope of services he could provide the public. William E. Vernay grew up in the family business and took over operations in 1964. America was becoming more mobile --- people were leaving their hometown roots and heading off to parts unknown. Times were changing and we were changing too, purchasing new equipment, expanding our facilities and constantly striving to be the best, always keeping in mind the old values, to be a fair and honest mover.

Our specialty is local and long distance moving, short and long term climate controlled storage, and moving pianos.
